Wolkem is the largest producer of mineral Wollastonite in the world. Wolkem are also India’s largest producer of mineral calcite. The Wolkem operates mines namely Kheratarla mines for Wollastonite & calcite in districts- Pali & Udaipur of Rajasthan. Wolkem are mining, processing and marketing Wollastonite and calcite for over 100+ applications to industries such as ceramics, brake lining, metallurgy, paints, paper and dental care applications within the country and also export in 25 + countries of the world. It is an ISO 9001 and 14001 company backed up by sound research & development laboratories recognized by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The export of mineral Wollastonite is recognized by Govt. of India and company has been receiving CAPEXIL awards for last several years. Wolkem’s philosophy is to carry out all related activities by scientific mining and implementing environment management programs with special emphasis on community development. The mining activities started in 1976. This mine employs 500 workmen. Both the mine employs 90% tribals, who are engaged in supervisory, skilled and unskilled category in mining & mineral sorting operations.
