Dolomite is a mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate, notable for its distinct crystallizes in the trigonal-rhombohedral system with the chemical formula CaMg(CO3)2, occurrence in white, grey, pink hues, and brown. Dolomite is primarily found in sedimentary rock formations called dolostone or dolomitic marble.

Dolomite exhibits a Mohs hardness of 3.5–4 and a specific gravity of approximately 2.85–2.9
