Friction
Friction
Wolkem’s milled, HAR & Surface modified Wollastonite grades are highly inert, acicular in nature and have a high melting temperature, thus Wolkem’s Wollastonite grades are used as a secondary reinforcement filler in dry mix non-asbestos organic friction materials such as Brake lining, Brake Pads, Lining of Clutch facings, Friction papers & Heavy Duty Blocks etc.
Wollastonite imparts
- Thermal stability and insulation
- Improved wear and processing advantages
- Increased tensile strength & increased flexural modulus
- Improved thermal insulation
- Reduces wear & Reduces cracking
- Reduces noise
- Reduces costs
Is much cheaper than hazardous asbestos, which it replaces.
Recommended Grades-
- Kemolit KW-60
- Kemolit KW-4
- Fillex 1AF-1(KW)
Calcite in Friction Applications
Wolkem’s calcium carbonate product is widely used used in the manufacturing of brake pads and linings for automotive and industrial applications. Calcium carbonate serves several purposes and provides many benefits in the formulation and performance of brake composites.
- Calcium carbonate increases the durability of sealants and improves the ride through noise reduction.
- Calcite is a low cost alternative to other fillers
- It is used as a reinforcement agent
- It is frequently combined with other additives and fillers to achieve the desired friction coefficient and optimize the braking performance.
Recommended Grades
- Belsun-3 CH
- Calsun-2
